On the move... Bro. Don began working for his father in a machine shop in Lansing. He was a millwright, rigger and truck driver. His experience in this area later brought a job offer from Morristown, Tennessee. So in 1979, Bro. Don and Connie and their two children, Jamie and Chance, moved south.

Salvation... It was in October of 1979 that Bro. Don was saved. Connie had been saved just three weeks prior to their move to Tennessee. Both were baptized and joined Bethel Baptist Church. There they served the Lord as Sunday School teachers and Bro. Don was ordained a deacon.

Big business... In 1982, Bro. Don and Connie moved to Martin and began a machine shop business of their own in Union City. They were in partnership with Bro. Don's father and brother who by this time had also moved back to Tennessee. Bro. Don and Connie also began the D Bar C Ranch in Martin. They raised and trained rodeo livestock.

Bigger business... During this time the Lord called Bro. Don into
the ministry. He served as the pastor of Laneview Baptist Church in
Kenton from 1986 - 2000. He had sold his interests in both businesses
to devote himself full-time to the Lord's ministry.

At Mt. Gilead... Bro. Don has been serving as pastor at
Mt. Gilead since May of 2001. Connie works as a rural letter
carrier for the post office. Both feel that its the Lord's will that they have made this move to Mt. Gilead and are looking forward to serving God here for many years.

Family... Bro. Don and Connie's children and grandchildren live in the Martin area. Their daughter Jamie and son-in-law, Chris, have three sons: Matthew, Mark, and Michael. Their son Chance and his wife, Reecea, have one son, Cody.

Just for fun... Bro. Don enjoys hunting, golfing, and working in the yard. Connie's hobbies are reading, golfing, and leading Bible studies. Both enjoy traveling and four-wheeler riding.
